Engr. Danilo D. Tamayo

Chairman

Engr. Danilo D. Tamayo is the person behind his eponymous company DDT Konstract, Inc. (DDTKI). Tracing humble roots in the coastal hometown of Buguey, Cagayan—an environment far removed from the milieu of building and construction of which he would eventually flourish in—what he was armed with was an ambition to rise above the challenges of poverty and lack of opportunities, as well as God-given talent and innate skills in mathematics. He bravely ventured in Manila in his teens to pursue a civil engineering degree at the National University, overcoming financial lack through a combination of hard work, academic excellence and street smarts. After graduation, he started a family with his college sweetheart Cynthia and began work as an employee in various construction firms. He rose from the ranks from project engineer to vice president.

The Asian financial crisis of 1997 hit and Engr. Tamayo found himself without a job. At this critical juncture, he decided to stake it out on his own and start his firm, eventually taking in a few employees including his wife who is also a civil engineer by profession. With a borrowed capital of Php300,000.00, DDTKI started with small residential and commercial projects while steadily earning a reputation for quality work and professional dealings. Following the success of its inceptive housing project, DDTKI amassed an extensive portfolio of highly-satisfied clients. Engr. Danilo Tamayo’s visionary leadership and integral life values he continues to impart such as pursuit of excellence, integrity, concern for people and generosity helped him grow the company into one of the top construction companies in the country providing a perfect meld of quality, cost and time.

Today, more than 20 years after Engr. Tamayo established DDTKI, the company shows no indication of slowing down and is actively engaged in many more landmark projects that are redefining the construction landscape across the country.

Engr. Andrea Marie Tamayo-Ulep

President

She started her career in 2005 as a structural designer in a prestigious firm, SY^2 & Associates, Inc. right after passing the Civil Engineering board exam. She was involved in the design of various condominiums and offices such as Globe Telecoms headquarters, Trion Towers, Ayala Technohub, HSBC Building in BGC, and many more. In year 2008, she was entrusted the position of Team Leader handling a team of 5 people. She trained there for four and a half years.

After her stint in a structural designing firm, she, together with her father, Engr. Danilo D. Tamayo, started a company named Whiteport Inc. She handled the company as General Manager for eight years. The company started as a fit out company with category B PCAB License doing various SM Savemore & SM Hypermarkets nationwide. Under her supervision, the company became ISO certified by TUV Rheinland. From category B, it became a triple A construction firm with projects including fitout works for Globe Telecom, BDO Headquarters, Trion Tower 1, and is now doing various general construction works with the big developers in the country.

She is instrumental in the exponential growth of the company which is still standing amidst the pandemic.

While handling a construction firm, she is also the President of the Andres P. Tamayo Sr. Foundation, Inc., the corporate social responsibility arm of DDT group of companies operating nationwide. Its core program is Handog Edukasyon - providing scholarship grants to underserved communities. It grew from 35 students to 400 students.

After 8 years in the construction industry, she started her career as President of DataLand, Inc., a real estate developer. Bringing her expertise in construction, she makes sure that all projects deliverables are true to the company's tagline of "Quality Beyond The Basics." The company has successfully turned over its first residential hi-rise project, The Silk Residences in Sta. Mesa, Manila, last 2016. It has recently completed its second flagship hi-rise development, The Olive Place Tower 1, in Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City. DataLand is currently expanding its portfolio from high-rise condominiums to landed condominiums, hotels, dormitels, offices, and township developments. He achieved this by pushing its young employees to improve themselves through tackling new and sometimes daunting tasks that push them out of their comfort zones. He finds that this usually works to build their skills and confidence.
